Fleets

What is a fleet

A way to give other people an AI agent of their own, paid for and set up by you.

A fleet lets you create agents for other people. You set them up, you pay for them, and each person gets an agent of their own.

For example, say you run a team of ten and want everyone to have their own AI agent. Instead of each person signing up for OpenRouter and working out which settings to pick, you can create all ten agents at once, share your OpenRouter key with them and decide how they are set up.

On these pages, you are the fleet admin, and the people you create agents for are your users.

What your users get

Each user gets a complete agent of their own, just like the one you created in Create your first agent. They sign in to Salts with their email address, and their agent is ready and waiting for them.

Each agent is private to its user. As the fleet admin, you can control how the agents are set up and how much they can spend, but you cannot open a user's agent or read their conversations.

What you control

  • Whether the agents use your OpenRouter key, so users do not need their own.
  • How much each agent can spend every month.
  • Which models your users can choose from.
  • Which settings your users are allowed to change.
  • Who gets an agent. You can add and remove users at any time.

When to use a fleet

A fleet is a good fit when you want to give agents to your team, to your customers, or to friends and family who would not set one up themselves.

If you only want to share your own agent with one or two people, you do not need a fleet. You can add them under Manage access in your agent's settings instead. Keep in mind that they will be able to read everything in your agent.
